You have entered the Shrines portal, home to any number of web-shrines, categorized by medium.
Now, for those neophyte internet users who are unaware, a web-shrine is essentially a page dedicated to a specific thing, often arranged with an artistic flair and chronicling any number of interesting things about the topic. This often takes the form of shrines dedicated to specific works of art, such as videogames or books, or shrines dedicated to specific characters within those works of art. They may also be dedicated to any number of other things, including the fictional universes within works of art or the artists behind them. Some may be literal shrines dedicated in religious fashion to their topic.
In my opinion, no personal website is complete without at least one shrine page, and I, ambitious as ever, have cleared much space for future shrines. Take a look within the following pages, and see if something strikes you.
VideogamesShrines dedicated to all the virtual worlds we've traversed in the theatre of the imagination, through the power of digital tachnology. |
AnimeShrines dedicated to the colorful and dramatic vistas of Japanimation, and their many epic battles, besides. |
||
CartoonsAnimation is a universal medium for artistic expression, and one of the most evocative, no matter what culture it originates from. |
LiteratureThe power of the written word to transport a reader somewhere else is truly mind-boggling. |
||
MusicEvoking emotion through sound alone is some pretty powerful magick, in my opinion. |
TelevisionFor all the serialized, episodic worlds, within which much adventure and intrigue awaits. |
||
FilmI'm running out of cool things to say, but cinema fucking rules. I LOVE WHEN THE PICTURES MOVE!! |
Et CeteraAn eclectic space for all the shrines that don't fit into the above categories. |
